Since the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion 43 years ago in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, more than 58 million unborn children have lost their lives. Each one of those abortions is a tragedy, not just because an innocent child died, but because of the lasting impact the abortion itself had on the mothers & fathers of those children.
Today, we want to celebrate a victory that has taken place on the road back to a prevailing national sentiment that values pre-born human life. Here is a recent quote from an Alabama Judge ruling on an abortion case:
“The use of the viability standard established in Roe [Roe v. Wade] is incoherent as it relates to wrongful-death law because, among other reasons, life begins at the moment of conception. The fact that life begins at conception is beyond refutation,” wrote Judge Thomas Parker.
Your voice, your educated vote for pro-life candidates and your financial support for pro-life organizations does make a difference. Our efforts do matter and we need to continue the fight to save the unborn.
One small way to help is with the “Change for Change” baby bottle campaign. The campaign continues throughout the year with a special emphasis on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade which has rightly been dubbed Sanctity of Human Life Day. (January 22) If you have a bottle sitting at home already, it's a great day to bring it back to your church or drop it off at the Pregnancy Center. This money is used to help parents and families who need assistance; emotional, material, educational or spiritual.
When you insert a check, cash or coins in the bottle you help to provide the funds needed to encourage a healthy “change” in a client’s life. You can also help by becoming a monthly partner; there are “Blessing” coupon books available at the center or by request. All gifts are tax-deductible.
Thank you for supporting the Canon City Pregnancy Center’s
